Abba and Genesis will be among the latest inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year, it has been announced.
The two bands will enter the roll-call of great musicians alongside Jimmy Cliff, The Hollies and The Stooges in a ceremony in New York on March 15th.
Joel Peresman, president of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, said that the latest members "represent a great cross-section of artists that define the broad spectrum and history of rock and roll".
Genesis - whose classic albums such as Abacab and Invisible Touch have been immortalised in vintage T-shirts - are among the acts scheduled to play at the event.
However, keyboardist Tony Banks has revealed that Phil Collins' recent back surgery could force them to cancel the performance.
He told Billboard: "Phil's got a few physical problems at the moment which means I don't think he'd be able to play."
Last year's inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame included Jeff Beck, Metallica and Run DMC.
Blink 182 will perform a headline set at Oxegen in Ireland next summer.
George Michael fans could celebrate the re-release of his album Faith by sporting 80s fashion t-shirts.
