Steven Tyler has vowed to continue working with Aerosmith, despite checking himself into a rehab clinic to treat an addition to painkillers.
In a statement released to Rolling Stone magazine, the US rock band's 61-year-old frontman said that he was "taking responsibility for the management of my pain" by entering rehab.
However, Tyler also denied recent reports that he has demanded a two-year hiatus from Aerosmith or is planning to leave the group altogether.
"I will enthusiastically be writing, recording and performing with Aerosmith as soon as things are handled," he said.
The band were forced to cancel part of their summer tour this year after Tyler fell off the stage during a concert in South Dakota.
Guitarist Joe Perry, who wrote many of Aerosmith's songs with Tyler, said last month that he believed the singer wanted to part company with his bandmates.
Aerosmith have featured on the vintage T-shirts of rock fans around the world due to the success of songs such as Walk This Way, Love in an Elevator and Crazy.
