Glastonbury's show will go on for six more years
12/02/2010
Music fans everywhere will no doubt be breathing a sigh of relief with the announcement that the Glastonbury music festival has been granted a license for the next six years.
So, the show will go on for a while yet, allowing music fans wearing vintage Tshirts from the length and breadth of the country to make the annual music pilgrimage to the muddy fields of Somerset.
This year, there were no objections to the planning application so Mendip District Council granted the license until 2016.
Tickets for the 2010 festival have already sold out, although most of the line up has yet to be officially announced.
On the bill so far are Irish rockers U2, Hawaiian guitarist Jack Johnson and My Luminaries - the early bird winners of the Emerging Talent Contest.
As always, there are rumours about headliners flying around, but many festival-goers are just as concerned about the atmosphere and their mates as they are about the bands on stage.
Hopefully, this year will be sunny and there won’t be any need for cheap rain macs and welly boots, but then again, this is England.
