Pull on your vintage T-shirts in appreciation of Paul Weller

Paul Weller was honoured at the Shockwaves NME Awards last night (February 24th), being named Godlike Genius.

The former Jam front man collected his award from previous winners Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream and the Clash's Mick Jones.

After a short speech, Weller gave a six-song performance to the crowds at the ceremony, which included classics like Town Called Malice and Wake Up The Nation.

If you think it's about time that he was afforded godlike status, you might want to buy some Paul Weller T-shirts to show your allegiance to the "the Modfather".

Other winners at last night's awards included Muse and Kasabian, who each picked up two awards.

Meanwhile, Britpop's biggest rivalry saw Blur come out on top this time, beating Oasis to the gong for best live event.

Damon Albarn and crew scooped the prize for their gig at Hyde Park, ahead of shows from Jay-Z, The Dead Weather, Muse and Oasis.
