Dig out the retro T-shirts for Flash Gordon film
02/03/2010
Director Brett Eisner has been talking about the Flash Gordon movie that's been on the cards for years.
He revealed that a draft of the script is set to go to Sony within the next couple of months so we could see the hero gracing our screens again soon.
But in an interview with Movie Line, Eisner was quick to stress that this isn't a remake of anything that's been done before.
And that's probably a good thing because, let's face it, who else could fill Brian Blessed's shoes as Prince Vultan?
"It's definitely based on the Alex Raymond strips from the 30s and 40s, told from the point of view as if he was redoing the strips today," Eisner told the movie news site.
No doubt fans wearing Flash Gordon T-shirts will head to cinemas to see the new version when it's released.
Even though a script is almost finalised, it's still going to be a while until we get to see the end result - apparently it's going to be a "gigantic" movie and that means it could be another couple of years until it hits the cinemas.
