Pet Shop Boys to support Take That on tour

Take That are to be supported on their tour by the Pet Shop Boys, it was revealed yesterday (April 3rd 2011).

The sell-out summer tour - which starts in Sunderland on May 27th and reaches Wembley on July 9th - will as such feature music that is sure to appeal to fans of '80s hits as much as the boy band's songs from the '90s.

Gary Barlow said he was thrilled to have Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe on board, as the first single he ever bought was by the Pet Shop Boys.

"I've followed their whole career and always loved their unique approach to records and live performance. That combined with two lovely people means we're in for a great tour," he added.

Robbie Williams also declared himself a huge fan of the duo.

The Pet Shop Boys have had 22 top ten singles since 1986, including West End Girls and Heart.
