New Jackson album deal could lead to resurgence of retro T shirts

Michael Jackson was always going to be one of those stars who left a legacy after his death.

And it hasn’t taken long for the music industry to cash in on the man who brought us moon-walking and some of the most recognisable songs of the past 40-odd years.

The estate of Michael Jackson has agreed a deal with Sony to produce ten new albums over the next seven years.

And there will be some previously unreleased material - Rob Stringer, chairman of the Columbia Epic label group, which is part of Sony, told the LA Times that they have "fascinating and remarkable" recordings in the archives from the King of Pop.

The Off the Wall album will be the first to get the makeover treatment, with new outtakes being included.

At least one album of entirely unreleased material is also planned, with the newspaper reporting that there are 60 unreleased recordings from Jackson in the mix.

A new wave of Jackson memorabilia, no doubt including retro T shirts, is sure to accompany the planned albums.

Fans who want something else to remember the Thriller singer by could be interested in plans to auction off some of Jackson's furniture later this year.
