Rod Stewart to headline London festival

Rod Stewart will perform at a festival in London this summer, it has been confirmed.

The singer has been confirmed as a headlining act at the Hard Rock Calling Festival in Hyde Park, which will take place on Saturday June 25th and Sunday June 26th.

"Sounds like a perfect night - the people, the place - and I intend to do my part to bring a whole lot of music and more than a few surprises," said the 66-year-old.

Stewart is due to perform on the Sunday night and joins the bill alongside Saturday's headliners Bon Jovi, with more special guests to be announced.

This year could be an important one for the singer - whose number one hits include I Don't Want to Talk About It, Do Ya Think I'm Sexy and Maggie May - as he and wife Penny Lancaster last month announced they are expecting a child.
