Grab your St Patrick's Day T-shirts for celebrations in Belfast

It's coming up to that time of year when everyone seems to be Irish for a day, drinks copious amounts of Guinness and goes out wearing something green.

Anyone who's heading to the Emerald Isle for the celebrations this year will be in for a treat, with a host of events, parades and concerts taking place around the country.

If you're not of Irish descent then buy a St Patrick's Day T-shirt and you'll blend right in!

Belfast in particular is pulling out all the stops for this year's festivities.

Last month, officials announced that rapper Chipmunk will be playing a free concert on March 17th and now more details have emerged about some of the parades taking place around the city.

One of the most memorable events to get you in the mood to celebrate is the cross-county parade in Downpatrick, allegedly the final resting place of Ireland's patron saint.

The theme of the carnival for 2010 is Oh What a Wonderful World so expect plenty of bright colours as well as the obligatory green.

For a really extreme St Patrick's Day experience, you could always head to the States where they're so keen to get the luck of the Irish that they dye rivers and streams green – it's especially impressive in Chicago.
