Just when you thought they'd dredged up every 70s or 80s series that they could turn into a movie, they hit you with Buck Rogers.
Although the character's been around since the 1920s, it's probably Gil Gerard's version of Buck Rogers that springs to mind.
Now, in the late 70s-early 80s when the TV series was made, it was just another sci-fi but, as with all these things, the hilarious costumes and highly questionable special effects gave it a kind of retro-glow in later years.
Whether it's really inspired many vintage T-shirts is another matter but who knows, if the movie goes ahead as planned then a whole host of new ones could pop up.
Deadline New York broke the news of the return of Buck Rogers, the fighter pilot who wakes up in the 25th century, only to be confronted with a load of aliens to battle against.
According to the blog, we'll be seeing the sci-fi star in 3D, with Paul WS Anderson in the director's chair.
The screenplay is currently being written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. So, be prepared to blast off into space, but dont expect Buck Rogers to be wearing his fetching white one-piece this time around.
