Americas most famous family have been with us since 1987, and have not aged a day since they started as wobbly drawings in short episodes during the Tracy Ullman Show, into their own prime time show today.
Derided by Presidents, and aiming to take swipes at middle America, corporations and even their own TV network, The Simpsons have entered main stream consciousness on many levels. Creator Matt Groening said his goal in creating the show was to offer the audience an alternative to what he called "the mainstream trash" that they were watching, and this ethos has kept on through the years. Who doesn’t like The Simpsons? Every character from Homer to Groundskeeper Willy are as entertaining as each other, and the plot lines are such that everyone from children to adults can find amusing.
