What are RSS Feeds?
RSS stands for Really simple syndication, but what is it? Well I’m sure you’ve seen this icon
on websites and blogs all across the net. Well anywhere you see it means that a data feed it available for you to use however you choose. You can use RSS feeds to keep you updated about news, weather, sport & even 8ball's latest tshirts. RSS feeds can be read using a number of different methods, Online Readers, Windows aplications, Web browsers and even a few email clients like Outlook 2007.
Here at 8ball we’ve created 3 different RSS feeds for you to subscribe to:
News Feed – You guessed it, all the latest news from us here at 8ball. New blog entries, new site features and new competitions.
New Tshirts – All our new products in a convenient RSS feed. Complete with thumbnails if you have a compatible feed reader*.
Tshirts Sale – Grab yourself a bargain, as soon as we update our sale products you’ll get the latest items displayed in your favourite feed reader. Complete with thumbnails if you have a compatible feed reader*.
If you click on one of the above feeds dependent on what browser your using a few different things may happen.
Internet Explorer 6 or below – You’ll just see code and no way to subscribe to the page, use a feed reader instead (please see below)
Internet Explorer 7 –You should see the feed displayed correctly with the option to subscribe to the feed using IE7’s built in RSS feed reader. You may want to consider using a better reader for added functionality (see below)
Firefox 1.5 or below – You’ll just see code and no way to subscribe to the page, use a feed reader instead (please see below)
Firefox 2 – Firefox 2 gives you the option to subscribe to the RSS feed using a number of different RSS feed readers, Bloglines, My Yahoo, Google Reader + any other aplication you use.
