We love Comic Con!

by 8Ball T Shirts November 06, 2015 0 Comments

Not to be missed by any self appreciating nerd, November brings us our favourite convention Comic Con!

A place for all pop culture enthusiasts to unite, Comic Con began as the brainchild of Paul Miley some 14 years ago when he had an idea to create a large scale collectors show. A partnership was formed with Bryan Cooney and over the years the idea transformed into MCM (Movies, comics, movies) ‘Comic Con.’

Today, the Comic Con events have become signature pop culture shows in the UK and Ireland, fusing together the best of movies, gaming, anime, comics, television, gadgets and toys.

What to expect at Comic Con…

The events take place in cities and towns across the UK including Telford, Birmingham, Manchester, Dublin, Glasgow and London, bringing together brand new game releases, exclusive screenings, panels of special guests from the industry as well as a whole host of other interesting content including a SteamPunk and VidFest area.

Here at at 8Ball we consider ourselves the epitome of all things geeky and whether you’re a dedicated Comic Con attendee or just plain intrigued…Here are our three favourite areas.

Down for a barrel of laughs in the Comic village…

Comic village offers the largest gathering of Comic Creators in the UK bringing together all styles and levels. The Comic village area also has a dedicated stage hosting panels from some of the top names in the Comic World, sharing insights into their new creations and offering guidance as well as partaking in Q&A’s.

Ready to discover a collectable gem in the trading zone…

MCM London Comic Con brings together the UK’s top dealers offering merchandise from both the UK and abroad in Movies, Anime, Manga, TV, Comics, Trading Cards, Actions Figures and the list goes on.

So if you are looking for that new or old action figure or a hard to get trading card you’re sure to find it at the Comic Con trading zone.

Transport yourself to the far east in the Pop Asia area…
PopAsia offers a fusion of Japanese, Korean & Asian culture. As well as an array of fashion, food, the PopAsia stage also hosts its own entertainment packages. Past exhibitors have included the Wagashi Japanese Bakery, the largest manufacturer of sweet treat ‘Dorayaki’ in the UK.
