Watch the creation of our office mural for the brand new 8Ball.co.uk workspace
Over the last few months the 8Ball.co.uk team have been boxing up our belongings, packing up our t-shirts and waving goodbye to Stafford as we prepared to move into a new home in Stone.
The move was necessary to fit in our brand-new printer, more on that later, which will allow us to bring you more designs, amazing quality prints and even better prices. You can see how we’ve got on through our Instagram page and on our special Pinterest board.
One the best things about moving to a new location is having a blank canvas to start with so we’ve redesigned a boring work unit into a brilliant place to work and be creative. This is epitomised in our specially commissioned office mural, drawn-up and hand-painted by our very own in-house designers Jim and Chris.
So here is the creation of our mural for the brand new 8Ball.co.uk office space.

Taking inspiration from lowbrow, street art and surrealism our new wall art, office mural sums up our take on creativity and innovation in the work place.
Designed freehand using a Wacom Cintiq graphics tablet before being hand painted from a projection of an acetate print.
To complete the new meeting room, old furniture and chairs were up-cycled and re-purposed and teamed with exciting wall art.
We asked designer Chris Carr to explain the design process:
‘Our main goal was to create a fun environment that would help inspire the design team whilst working on new projects; we had a large blank wall and lots of paint to get creative with.
‘We started by gathering lots of research to get our creative juices flowing. We looked at the impressive murals painted at the Facebook offices some years back by David Choe for Mark Zuckerberg. We looked at low brow art, pop art, graffiti, street art, even Japanese influences.
‘We collected images of other offices such as Google and Street & Garden in Australia to give us a real feel for what was going on elsewhere with interior design and art, including work by interior designers such as Kelly Wearstler and Kelly Hoppen.
‘Then came the real fun part of sketching our ideas out on the Wacom Cintiq tablet. This gave us a visual template to project on the wall and we used our artistic license to tidy any areas as we started to map out the design, many artists such as Greg Simkins and Alex Pardee do this.’
