You can’t turn your head in a cinema these days without running into a pack of superheroes doing what they do best. From the Avengers to the upcoming Justice League movie they’re pretty much everywhere! But did you know that the bad guys have been teaming up in comics to create a force to be reckoned with decades before David Ayer got Margot Robbie, Will Smith and co together to create this year’s biggest blockbuster – Suicide Squad.
Evil geniuses, cunning killers and usually the most charismatic character in a movie, we all love to hate love a guy or gal with a dark side. Sure we don’t want the world to end, but (not so) deep down we’re rooting for the megalomaniacs and crazy criminals. With this in mind and as it happens to be the release date of Suicide Squad, we’ve put together the ultimate villain squad.
The Injustice League? The Revengers? Either way this villain squad are definitely the worst of the worst…
Darkseid
For the one god-tier boss of the group it was a tough choice between Darkseid and Thanos. Since there could only be one, as they’d never share power, we had to choose Darkseid. Both are immortal, with superhuman strength, intelligence and powers. But with his mastery of Omega Beams Darkseid just tips it. Unless Thanos has the infinity gauntlet of course…
With Darkseid at its head, the group would have a master planner who could go toe to toe with the strongest goody-two-shoes heroes out there.
Loki
Norse god of mischief, master manipulator and wearer of a very pointy helmet. While not the strongest of super villains, he is one of the smartest. Able to manipulate enemies in ways that often have them fighting themselves more than their foes.
Loki has shown himself willing to team up with / use others to achieve his goals so would be a huge benefit to any team.
Venom
Spidey's arch nemesis and Halloween costume look-a-like is another fine addition to the team. He possesses all the abilities of his arachnid namesake, but with a bit brutality. Because he is a symbiont he can also change hosts as required.
Over the years Venom has undergone a bit of a makeover into a anti-hero persona. Although his recent time with the Dark Avengers proves he can work on a team.
Joker
Who doesn’t love a psychopathic clown? While not the guy you may first pick up as a villain squad member, the Joker can bring much to the table, and not just his bag of deadly tricks. Truly amoral and able to think outside of any box, Mr J can provide brutal unpredictability to put any opponent of their guard.
Like the others on this list, Joker has no qualms about teaming up when it suits him. He knows his weaknesses and is the first to exploit those who can help him balance them out.
Mystique
When it comes to infiltration and misdirection, few can compare to the pure talent of Mystique. Able to morph into any form, she is perfect for any plan that requires stealth, be it espionage or assassination.
Mystique was always best when she was working with others. She has fought and joined a number of the mutant organisations throughout the years and each one has benefited from her unique abilities.
Doomsday
Our villain squad has a lot of powerful beings on it, but only one of them has the distinct honour of killing the Man of Steel, Superman (for a while at least). Doomsday is an ancient Kryptionian who, through forced evolution, became one the most powerful beings in the universe.
While not a mastermind like many of the villains on this list, Doomsday has unrivalled strength. If used like a weapon, pointed in the right direction and let go, he could be more than useful to his squad mates.
Sometimes the only way to cope with the world is to go a little crazy and become Daddy's Lil Monster.
